Williamsburg
We may be biased, but for our money there isn’t a better place to immerse yourself in history than Williamsburg, VA. Part of the Historic Triangle that includes Jamestown and Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg is a special place all to its own. Watch history come alive as people perform traditional jobs from the colonial era, complete with authentic costumes and language of the day (even the roofers need masters degrees in history. Imagine that…roofers!). Walk around the town and soak in the history, it is truly one of a kind. You will also want to check out Jamestown and the surrounding areas.
Williamsburg is also home to the College of William and Mary, the second oldest college in America next to Harvard and one of the most prestigious law schools. Many famous people have attended William and Mary including presidents Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, and the Daily Show’s Jon Stewart.
